Time to play "Name that party!"

While perusing the always informative Mackinac Center for Public Policy, I came across a post with some recent bills being passed through the Michigan Senate. I have taken a few and group them into threes. The first three are bills being sought by one political party, the second three by another. See if you can guess which party senator submitted the bills.

The first three:

  • Senate Bill 775: Expands the allowable guns allowed south of “rifle line”
  • Senate Bill 802: Require state agencies to post their proposed spending in an online spreadsheet
  • Senate Bill 803: Require voters to prove their citizenship

The second three:

  • Senate Bill 779: Impose criminal penalties for making toy guns look real
  • Senate Bill 819: Restrict the amount of time diesel engines can idle
  • Senate Bill 857: Ban barber pole display by unlicensed hair cutters

The first bill involve allowing the expanded use of legal firearms in hunting, the second bill requires greater government accountability, and the third protects a sacred right of the United States against fraud.

The fourth bill protects us from the danger of orange caps on the ends of toy guns, the fifth bill is for those who still believe man-made global warming is real, and the sixth is to make sure the proper fealty is paid to the government in the form of fees.

I'm not going to tell you which bills were submitted by Democrats and which were submitted by Republicans. If you want, you can check your answers at the MCPP web site, but I'm sure you already know the answers.
